THERE can be few more iconic sights of Nineties TV than a pumped-up Pamela Anderson pounding the sands in a skimpy red swimsuit.
So it’s only fitting that for a TV drama based on the Baywatch queen the actress portraying her - Lily James - slipped into an identical number.
With her blonde hair and figure enhanced by the barely-there costume, Miss James, 32, looked the spitting image of the Playboy pin-up. She could be seen posing for the cameras before running along a beach in Malibu in scenes for upcoming series Pam and Tommy.
At its height, Baywatch - with its tales of California lifeguards - was the most-watched TV show in the world, with an estimated weekly audience of 1.1billion viewers.
Pam and Tommy will tell the story of Miss Anderson’s romance with rock star Tommy Lee and the couple’s sex tape which was stolen and leaked online.
US actor Sebastian Stan, 38, will play Motley Crue drummer Lee in the show, which will be released on Hulu.
Miss Anderson famously had two breast implant surgeries in the early 1990s, first going to a 34D and then to 34DD and there has been speculation that Miss James has been wearing a fake bust for some scenes. The actress is currently appearing in the BBC’s The Pursuit of Love as the fearless and ‘love-addicted’ Linda Radlett. Last month she was pictured walking hand-in-hand with her new boyfriend and Queens Of The Stone Age bassist, Michael Shuman, 35. They were believed to be visiting his parents’ home in LA.
