EasyJet’s planes sent to Germany

EASYJET is moving planes to Germany as it fears July will be a write-off for British holidaymakers.

A number of aircraft that should have been taking British travellers to Mallorca will now take off from Berlin - where there are fewer restrictions on overseas trips.

In the past week alone, the Luton-based carrier has switched 150,000 seats from UK routes to the continent.

EasyJet said: ‘Europe is demonstrating that a safe reopening of travel is possible and so we continue to urge the UK Government to do so urgently so our customers can reunite with loved ones or travel for a much-needed break.’ Britons can currently only travel to 11 nations without having to quarantine on return.
